Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 slices bread (white, sourdough, or whole grain)
  • 4-6 slices cheese (cheddar, American, or Gruyere)
  • 2-3 tablespoons butter, softened
Optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice. The buttered side will face outward when assembled. Layer cheese between the unbuttered sides of the bread, ensuring even coverage from edge to edge.
  2. Preheat air fryer to 370°F (185°C) for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Place sandwiches in the air fryer basket, leaving space between them for proper air circulation. Cook for 3-4 minutes until bottom edges turn golden brown.
  4. Carefully flip each sandwich using a spatula. Cook for another 2-4 minutes until deep golden-brown on both sides.
  5. Check that sandwiches are deep golden-brown on both sides with cheese visibly melted around edges. Let rest for 1-2 minutes before cutting to prevent cheese from oozing out.

Notes

Keep butter at room temperature for easier spreading. Store leftovers in refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheat in air fryer at 350°F for 2-3 minutes to restore crispiness. Avoid microwaving as it makes bread soggy. Ensure adequate spacing between sandwiches for proper air circulation.
