Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 medium ripe banana
  • 3/4 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup cold milk (dairy or almond)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4-5 ice cubes

Method

Blending Steps
  1. Add the vanilla Greek yogurt and cold milk to your blender first. This liquid foundation prevents the frozen fruit from getting stuck at the bottom and ensures smoother blending.
  2. Drop in the frozen strawberries and banana pieces. Using frozen fruit eliminates the need for excessive ice while creating thick, frosty texture.
  3. Drizzle in the honey and vanilla extract. These ingredients elevate the berry flavor without overwhelming the natural fruit taste.
  4. Start blending on low speed for 30 seconds, then gradually increase to high. Blend for 60-90 seconds until completely smooth. Stop and scrape down sides if needed.
  5. Check the thickness - the perfect smoothie should coat a spoon but still pour easily. Add more milk if too thick, or ice cubes if too thin. Taste and adjust sweetness with additional honey if desired.

Notes

Pre-portion ingredients in freezer bags the night before for faster morning prep. Add liquids first to prevent frozen fruit from clumping at the bottom. Don't over-blend or smoothie becomes watery. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 24 hours or freeze in ice cube trays. Natural separation is normal - stir before drinking.
